It's not easy to admit this, but I'm a girl with a lot of hobbies, and one of my favourite pastimes is baking. Even my Tom's Guide colleagues can attest that I do make some damn good sugar cookies. And while I own almost every kitchen appliance under the sun, there's only one that has really propelled my love for baking, and that's my KitchenAid stand mixer.

If you're an avid baker, adding a KitchenAid stand mixer to your arsenal is a worthy investment. While it might be more of a splurge purchase, these stand mixers can do it all, from whipping up fluffy meringues to making pastry — and in a flash, too.

KitchenAid's Artisan Stand Mixers come in a plethora of different colourways — including 2025's colour of the year, Butter — and can be used for more than just mixing and whisking. You can purchase additional attachments, like a vegetable slicer or meat grinder, making it more than just a heavy-duty mixer. The catch? KitchenAid mixers are often slapped with a hefty fee, costing the average home baker upwards of AU$800, even when they're on sale.

Right now, you can grab a KitchenAid KSM-150 Artisan stand mixer for a record-low AU$499 on Amazon — that's a massive AU$400 saving! What's even more impressive is that some of the best KitchenAid attachments are on sale too, during the maker's own 30% off EOFY sale. So if you're keen to grab an extra dough hook or beater, you can check out the full range of discounted accessories and attachments at KitchenAid's EOFY storefront.

I've rounded up my top-rated KitchenAid attachments and the mixer below — all of which I've used alongside my own KitchenAid (or hope to nab during the sale myself!).

Now at its best price ever on Amazon, this versatile kitchen appliance is within reach of more budget-minded shoppers. The KitchenAid KSM-150 Artisan Stand Mixer is more than just a whipping and mixing machine. When paired with additional attachments, you can slice veggies, grind meat or even make pasta — the options are endless. Available in Almond Cream, Empire Red and Matte Black under the same listing.

That said, this discount is pretty major, but you'll only get the standard mixer with the whisk, dough hook and flat beater attachments inside the box.

A similar model (KSM45) is also available at KitchenAid for AU$499.

Arguably, this attachment isn't for everyone, but there's nothing quite like making your own pasta. You can whip up your pasta dough in the mixer, then proceed to cut it using one of the rollers in the set. You can choose from the spaghetti cutter (for finer noodles), the fettuccine cutter (for wider noodles), or use the pasta roller (for both smoothing dough and making lasagna sheets).

Churn your own custom ice cream creations with this fun attachment for your KitchenAid Stand Mixer. All you need to do is attach the ice cream bowl (after placing it in the freezer), pop on the dasher attachment, add in your preferred ice cream mix and churn until frozen (and delicious!). This attachment will get its fair share of use in the warmer months, so it's worth snapping up at this discounted rate.

If ice cream isn't your favourite frozen treat, consider the Ice Shaver Attachment, now discounted to AU$116 from AU$179. It shaves ice to the fluffiest texture, perfect for snow cones or frozen cocktails.

Now, I'll be honest here — I haven't used this particular attachment, but it is on my wishlist. As an avid home baker, there's nothing more frustrating than pulling out the kitchen scales and measuring cups to accurately weigh ingredients before plunging them into the mixing bowl.

To simplify this step completely, KitchenAid has created this intuitive Sifter + Scale attachment, which does as its name suggests. All you do is plop your dry ingredients into the funnel, and it'll weigh the mix before sifting into the bowl. Plus, the scale can be used on its lonesome, so you can weigh any wet ingredients too. What a win.

Easily, without a doubt, this is my favourite KitchenAid attachment ever. The Slicer and Shredder set comes with three interchangeable blades for different types of slicing and grating methods. My most-used blade is the medium shredding blade, which is perfect for cheeses, cauliflower or softer vegetables. Other attachments include the coarse shredding blade for firmer foods and the slicing blade, which creates perfectly even slices.

Do note, though, if your cheese or vegetables are too soft, they will get stuck between your chosen blade and the outer body. To fix this, you'll need to remove the blade and empty any stuck food before continuing.
